One year in China. Let's do this!

The Regular, Please

I am embarrassed to write this.  Honestly, truly, embarrassed.

Over the past six weeks, I have developed a habit.  Each morning, I go for a morning walk.  In order to get my lazy bottom out of bed each morning, I must have one thing in my system though to get me moving.  And that is coffee.  Unfortunately, the time of day that I walk is quite early and very few stores (including Starbucks, which doesn’t open until 7am…WHAT?!)  are open at that hour.

So this means that I must lower my standards.  Substantially.  And because of this lowering of standards, I must go to KFC in order to get my coffee.

And as of this morning I am scraping the bottom of the barrel of humiliation because the women at KFC had my coffee waiting and when I walked in, they exclaimed in Chinese, “She’s here!  Come quick.  Get her the coffee!”

I am a KFC regular.  And I am ashamed.

But I have zero intent on changing my morning routine.  I am a creature of habit, after all.
