One year in China. Let's do this!

Let’s Go Ride A Bike

A large group of us has purchased bikes now, which makes exploring the city so much fun.  Shanghai is absolutely massive and somewhat unattainable on foot and then if you are underground, you don’t get to see all the randomness that happens on the streets.  But with a bike, it is so easy to get around.  At night, it is even better because the traffic is a lot more calm and the city is all lit up and fun to look at while zooming by on a bike.

Nothing beats the views by Jing'An Temple at night!

While I am definitely still learning the rules of the road, each day becomes a bit easier.

The streets are quiet, there are no crazy taxi drivers, and you can hear your thoughts...night biking is the best!

And when you can spend your Saturday evening racing past the golden rooftops of Jing’An Temple and then the quiet streets of the French Concession before heading back to Zhongshan Park to watch the couples dance salsa in the park entrance, it all seems worth the occasional near-death-at-an-intersection experience on a bike.
